Ryan Smitheman's Portfolio
My name is Ryan Smitheman (Turn your computer volume on and keep it on!) and I am a proud freshman at UNC Charlotte in the Belk College of Business program. I am a very friendly, humorous (not to be confused with the bone in the arm), and open person. If you can pronounce my last name correct then we are already friends. Don’t feel bad I have heard it many ways including but not limited to Smith-man, Smither-man, Smithers, Smit-man, Smith-the-man, and Smyth-man. But since I’m a nice person I will tell you how to pronounce it; Smith-a-min. If I was to give a good estimate only 5% of the people I meet pronounce it right on the first try. Some of my best friends still think it's Smither-man. But I don't blame them that’s what the school system thought it was for 12 years.
I am from New Jersey but moved to North Carolina at a very young age (1), so I never developed that aggressive personality a lot of northerners have. My favorite sport teams are all from Philadelphia. That includes the Eagles, Flyers, and the 76ers. I am a big football fan and enjoy to watch hockey occasionally. I have played almost ever popular sport out their (I don't consider Cricket and Rugby a popular sport) Some highlights of the sports I did are coming in second place in my swim match, winning the championship little league baseball game, making it to the playoffs on my football team, and almost winning a chess tournament (I consider 5th place almost winning)
I think it is a privilege to know how to write, not everyone can do it. It is a way for us to express what we think in a non-verbal way. In Stephen King's mind it is a way to telepathically communicate among others.
The purpose of this portfolio is to explain why I believe athletes are above the law along with strong justification as to why I believe this, explaining a single story that I had to deal with, and blog posts about certain topics. When going through this site you will be presented with several famous athletes that I believe got of easy for crimes they commited. Keep in mind that this is a small sample of athletes. There are many athletes that I did not talk about on this site that have gotten away with crimes as well.

Along with that I have posted links throughout the website to information to help you understand more if you don't know what I am talking about. For the most part the site is very interactive and should provide no problems as to navigating around it. I hope you enjoy my website.
